Pigeon Forge brings out the Mountain girl in me

This past February, I was itching to get out of the house.  The weather wasn't too great, but the last time we went anywhere was for Christmas. I love my family and all, but I really wanted to get out and get some fresh air (besides, a break from the cold would be nice.)

Some friends of mine were telling me that they had gone to the Smoky Mountains in Tennesee to Pigeon Forge.  They reminded me that the great outdoors was the best thing to cure cabin fever. Too funny! They went to a cabin to cure cabin fever. OK that was corny.

So I looked into Pigeon Forge vacations.  You know I want to get a good deal, and I found a deal in pigeon forge under 200 bucks for the family to escape for a few days.  Not bad for quick vacation! While me and my husband were taking in the breath taking view during our tour of the area facilities, the kids played in the game room - go figure!

I guess with the rain we couldn't do much with the kids outside, but there was something so refreshing about being out on the balcony of our cabin and looking over the mountains ;'). Of course, this trip was too short, and we had to get back home, but it was just enough to cure those winter blues. Maybe next year we can stay longer.  I saw a good deal for a 4 night stay in another pigeon forge cabin, maybe we can bring the dogs next time (boarding them was more expensive than our trip).  Plus, it never hurts to get my cowgirl on at the Dixie Stampede, but the kids will probably enjoy Dollywood better.
